A Brief History Of Karoshi ( Karwaish )

Karoshi (Karwaish) is a village panchayat in Belgaum district of Karnataka state of India. Karoshi  is the educational and literary town of Belgaum district, an ancient village. The town is famous in the surrounding towns and villages because of the well-known elderly Sufi Hazrat Peer Raji  Noor Shah rehmatullah aleh, the Patel community in Karoshi is present in large numbers. Patel community is the descendants of Muhammad Meera Patel, the son of Sufi Hazrat Peer Raji  Noor Shah rehmatullah aleh sister. Fertile lands and greenery surrounding is beauty of this settlement.The main profession of the people here is farming. Besides this, a large section of teachers is serving in remote cities. In addition, a large section of the youth of this township is employed in Europe, US and Gulf countries and so on.

Geography

The village is located in northern Karnataka, 67 km from Belgaum City. Its neighboring to Maharashtra to name few towns nearby are Miraj, Sangli, Kolhapur etc.

History

Located 7km from Chikodi, this village is well known among people because of Hazrat Raji Noor Shah Rahmatullah alias Shah Noor Baba and the Gatti Baswana Temple. Hazrat Raji Noor Shah with regard to Rahmatullah alias Shah Noor Baba, people believe, sick and people who possessed evil are cure because of the glory of Baba.People belonging to different different faith visit Sha Noor Baba dargah to get blessing.Karoshi boasts of being a major and important township of Chikodi. This place has the distinction of being a major educational center. The geography of the village total area is 2407.6 hectares. According to the latest census, the population is estimated at 8,481. According to one survey, there are at least 1,919 houses. This area is considered for its agriculture and farming.

Hazrat Raji Noor Shah Urf Shah Noor Baba Dargah:

Karoshi is honored to have the privilege of Darulawalia and Bait-ul-Fukara presence. On this land, Hazrat Raji Noor alias Shah Noor Baba (RAH) Dahl declares, "These are the people who are with Allah. Who keep contact, fulfill the pledge.

You were a miracle

At that time, Bijapur was considered as the center of science and art where there were great discoveries and miracles. Hazart Shah Noor Baba used to busy in prayer in their monastery. As it is said that the existence of light in the darkness is very soon recognized, the news of your arrival and stay spread far away like wildfire, the news reached King Adil Shah, who was then on the throne. In your monastery, people from far away began to come and bless with Faiz. Yusuf Adil Shah started reaching you at least once every month to get blessing.

Conquest of the village of Karoshi

 It is said that Yusuf Adil Shah had a close relationship with him. One day when the king was with him, he received the news that the village ( Karoshi) had been conquered. King said "this village is conquered only because of your prayers, i gift this village to you".  He left to karoshi with honor and respect so that the candle of Islam could be lit in this gloomy darkness.

Hazrat Muhammad Meera Patel (RAH)

It is said that he managed the village as a Patel of Karoshi for many years but your personality was that of a tourist who relinquished the chains of private affairs. It was also ungrateful to give up the land given to him by Yusuf Adil Shah. Therefore, you handed over the whole manor to your sister's son, Hazrat Mohammad Mira. Today, it has been five hundred years since the patriarchy and landlord of this village has continued in the offspring of Hazrat Mohammed Meera Rahmatullah Alai. His descendants, Hazrat Sufi Nisar Ahmad Akhtar Patel (Qadri Chishti Junaidi), were alive at the time of compilation of this book and due to their constant

perseverance, we all are aware of the circumstances of Hazrat Raji Noor Shah alias Shah Noor Baba.

AdilShahi decree:

 The royal decree issued by Sultan Adil Shah regarding Karoshi extradition and landlord is still preserved in the patel family of Karoshi.This is the decree on which the seal of Adil Shah is recorded. It is recorded that Hazrat Raja Noor Shah Darwesh has been given the land of Karoshi at the behest of the king and the family has been given full powers to continue to receive the land from year to year. Sufi Nisar Ahmad Akhtar Patel (Qadri Chishti Junaidi) belong to same family.

Hazrat Shah Noor Baba Rahmatullah Alai Astana in Karoshi still an open source, where thousands of devotee still flock where Shah Noor Baba rested. A beautiful dome has been erected on this sacred shrine. Every summer Urs is celebrated with great enthusiasm, with thousands of people joining in from different communities and faith.
